A carefully balanced program provided regular habits of work, play and hours of sleep necessary for continued good health. The School was noted for its good and abundant food provided in a consistently well-balanced diet.
The health of students was under the supervision of the School pediatrician and a resident nurse. Complete physical examinations were required upon arrival, and were repeated semi-annually. Clinical care and special health services, where indicated, were provided by local hospitals, or by Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. Semi-annual dental examinations and routine dental care were provided by the School dentist.
Mental health on a supportive, non-treatment basis was under the direction of the School psychiatrist, in conjunction with the Social Service Staff.
